The largest possible control arm (dictated by cabinet depth) will result in a smoother action.

The cranked connections can be adjusted in and out to provide length flexibility.

Shelf or under counter mountings provide the most flexibility (as against rear mounts).

If control arms are to be rear mounted (i.e. on the back of the cabinet or wall) the maximum set back for the pivot is:

330mm – 48 cm (19 in.)

530mm – 65 cm (25.5 in.)

Minimum and maximum door openings (calculated using European hinges) are as follows:

330mm – min. 48 cm (19 in.), max. 81 cm (32 in.)

530mm – min. 65 cm (25.5 in.), max 122 cm (48 in.)

Because there are so many variations, according to cabinet depth and door opening, etc., experience in the work place will determine the most suitable control arm length. It is best always to bear in mind that the 330mm for base cabinets, etc., and the 530mm for pantries and closets.

Delivery and Delivery Charges

Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd uses a $9.75 freight charge for all guest checkout orders within New Zealand.

For trade customers freight will be calculated and added after checkout.

Delivery times vary depending on the destination, but the vast majority of all our orders have reached our New Zealand customers within 1-3 business days of order.

Orders made by customers for delivery addresses outside New Zealand will not immediately be charged; we will instead collect the details of your order and get in touch with you to confirm delivery charges for your order to your country.


Because we pride ourselves on the speed of our delivery and do our utmost to despatch your order as soon as we possibly can, it is not possible to cancel or alter your order once it has been confirmed. However, once you have received your goods, we are happy to exchange them for you if you have changed your mind. For the purposes of such exchanges:

The goods being exchanged must be returned to Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd in the original, unopened condition.

Goods you get as a replacement must be of the same or lower value than the original purchase.

You must meet all postage costs for both the return of your original purchase as well as the despatch of the replacement goods.

Customers have the right to return any goods deemed faulty or damaged in transit for a replacement. The following conditions apply terms returned in these circumstances:

  • Where goods are being returned due to a fault or damage, they must be in original condition. 
  • Where return is due to a fault, the customer must contact Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd within 7 days of receiving the product.
  • Damaged items must not be signed for at the time of delivery and must be rejected - a new replacement will be sent as soon as possible.

Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd will cover the freight costs involved for the return and replacement of any faulty or defective goods.
